DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEW YEAR TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE

"I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you are not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again." - F. Scott Fitzgerald
I’ll admit, I love the idea of New Year’s resolutions just as much as the next person, but I have realized that I shouldn’t be using that day as an excuse for waiting on the change I want to see in my life. I’ve realized over the past year that if I want to see a change in my life, it is up to me to change it. You are in charge of your own destiny…or so they say. As cheesy as that phrase sounds, it is so true. If you want to be successful or happy in your life, you should have the courage to go out and make it that way. Everyone is capable if they just believe in themselves, which I know, is difficult to do. We are our own biggest critic, right? Let's change that.
I know I am writing this very close to the new year, but that is because this time of year always prompts me to reflect on the past year and how different it was from the year prior. At the beginning of last year, I decided to make a vision board, which I HIGHLY suggest you all do, and I realized that while not everything on the board was going to be fulfilled, it gave me something to work toward. The year is ending and if 2018 wasn’t the best year for you, you should realize that this can be a new beginning or it can be another step in the journey you’re taking. I also want you to know that it is ok to use the middle of the year or the middle of a day as a new beginning, because life is far too short to be waiting for someone else to change your life or for the next something to happen. Let’s be our own biggest fan.
I know I will still have resolutions that I hope I stick to (eating healthy abroad…) but I also know that if I don’t follow through right away that I still have the entire year to make a change…and so do you. Let’s make 2019 the best yet, we have nothing to lose, right? As long as we live the life we love and are always kind (duh), I have faith that this year will be an incredible experience. Let’s do this!
Xoxo,
